सा चेद धर्मक्रिया न सयात तरयीधर्मम ऋते भुवि दण्डनीतिम ऋते चापि निर्मर्यादम इदं भवेत ।। ३-१४९-३२ ।।

sanskrit

'When these callings are properly followed, the world is easily sustained. However, if people do not live righteously, the world becomes lawless due to the absence of Vedic merit and proper governance.' ।। 3-149-32 ।।

english translation

sA ceda dharmakriyA na sayAta tarayIdharmama Rte bhuvi daNDanItima Rte cApi nirmaryAdama idaM bhaveta || 3-149-32 ||
