तं शब्दं सहसा शरुत्वा मृगपक्षिसमीरितम जलार्द्रपक्षा विहगाः समुत्पेतुः सहस्रशः ॥ ३-१४६-५१ ॥
'Suddenly hearing that sound, stirred by the movement of animals and birds, thousands of birds with wet wings rose up.' ॥ 3-146-51 ॥

taM zabdaM sahasA zarutvA mRgapakSisamIritama jalArdrapakSA vihagAH samutpetuH sahasrazaH ॥ 3-146-51 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतान औदकान पक्षिगणान निरीक्ष्य भरतर्षभः तान एवानुसरन रम्यं ददर्श सुमहत सरः ॥ ३-१४६-५२ ॥
'And that foremost of the strong, Bhima, uprooted countless plantain trunks, towering like many stacked palm trees, and hurled them forcefully in all directions.' ॥ 3-146-52 ॥

tAna audakAna pakSigaNAna nirIkSya bharatarSabhaH tAna evAnusarana ramyaM dadarza sumahata saraH ॥ 3-146-52 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकाञ्चनैः कदली सन्दैर मन्दमारुत कम्पितैः वीज्यमानम इवाक्षॊभ्यं तीरान्तर विसर्पिभिः ॥ ३-१४६-५३ ॥
'The banana groves, with golden stems, gently swaying in the soft breeze, seemed to be fanned, unshakeable, spreading along the riverbanks.' ॥ 3-146-53 ॥

kAJcanaiH kadalI sandaira mandamAruta kampitaiH vIjyamAnama ivAkSòbhyaM tIrAntara visarpibhiH ॥ 3-146-53 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत सरॊ ऽथावतीर्याशु परभूतकमलॊत्पलम महागज इवॊद्दामश चिक्रीड बलवद बली विक्रीड्य तस्मिन सुचिरम उत्ततारामित दयुतिः ॥ ३-१४६-५४ ॥
'Seeing these waterfowls, the bull among the Bharatas proceeded towards them and came upon a vast, enchanting lake. This boundless lake, as if kissed by the soft breezes, appeared to be fanned by the golden plantain trees along its shores.' ॥ 3-146-54 ॥

tata sarò 'thAvatIryAzu parabhUtakamalòtpalama mahAgaja ivòddAmaza cikrIDa balavada balI vikrIDya tasmina sucirama uttatArAmita dayutiH ॥ 3-146-54 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततॊ ऽवगाह्य वेगेन तद वनं बहुपादपम दध्मौ च शङ्खं सवनवत सर्वप्राणेन पाण्डवः ॥ ३-१४६-५५ ॥
'Having sported there for a long time, he of immeasurable radiance ascended, eager to swiftly penetrate the forest filled with trees. Then, with all his might, the Pandava blew his loud, resounding conch.' ॥ 3-146-55 ॥

tatò 'vagAhya vegena tada vanaM bahupAdapama dadhmau ca zaGkhaM savanavata sarvaprANena pANDavaH ॥ 3-146-55 ॥
