[विभान्द] रक्षांसि चैतानि चरन्ति पुत्र; रूपेण तेनाद्भुत दर्शनेन अतुल्यरूपाण्य अति घॊरवन्ति; विघ्नं सदा तपसश चिन्तयन्ति ॥ ३-११३-१ ॥
'Vibhandaka said, "Those are, O son, the Rākṣasas! They wander about in their wonderfully beautiful forms. Their strength is unrivaled, and their allure is great. Always, they contemplate how to obstruct the practice of penances."' ॥ 3-113-1 ॥

सुरूपरूपाणि च तानि तात; परलॊभयन्ते विविधैर उपायैः सुखाच च लॊकाच च निपातयन्ति; तान्य उग्रकर्माणि मुनीन वनेषु ॥ ३-११३-२ ॥
'Moreover, O my boy, they assume enchanting shapes and use various means to entice. And those fierce beings cast the sages, the dwellers of the forests, out of the blessed realms they had attained through their pious deeds.' ॥ 3-113-2 ॥

न तानि सेवेत मुनिर यतात्मा; सतां लॊकान परार्थयानः कथं चित कृत्वा विघ्नं तापसानां रमन्ते; पापाचारास तपसस तान्य अपाप ॥ ३-११३-३ ॥
'The sage who has mastery over his soul and seeks to reach the realms of the righteous should avoid all association with them. Their actions are vile, and they take pleasure in obstructing those who practice penance; therefore, a pious person should never cast his gaze upon them.' ॥ 3-113-3 ॥

असज जनेनाचरितानि पुत्र; पापान्य अपेयानि मधूनि तानि माल्यानि चैतानि न वै मुनीनां; समृतानि चित्रॊज्ज्वल गन्धवन्ति ॥ ३-११३-४ ॥
'And, O son, those are drinks unworthy of consumption, being spirituous liquors enjoyed by the unrighteous. These garlands, too, bright, fragrant, and of various hues, are not meant for the saints.' ॥ 3-113-4 ॥
english translation
[लॊमष] रक्षांसि तानीति निवार्य पुत्रं; विभाण्डकस तां मृगयां बभूव नासादयाम आस यदा तर्यहेण; तदा स पर्याववृते ऽऽशरमाय ॥ ३-११३-५ ॥
'Having thus warned his son that those were wicked demons, Vibhandaka set out in search of her. After three days of searching without success, he returned to his own hermitage.' ॥ 3-113-5 ॥
