[व] ततः परयातः कौन्तेयः करमेण भरतर्षभ नन्दाम अपरनन्दां च नद्यौ पापभयापहे ॥ ३-१०९-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana said, "O chief of the Bharata lineage! The son of Kunti then proceeded slowly to the two rivers, Nanda and Aparananda, known for their power to eradicate the fear of sin."' ॥ 3-109-1 ॥
english translation
स पर्वतं समासाद्य हेमकूटम अनामयम अचिन्त्यान अद्भुतान भावान ददर्श सुबहून नृपः ॥ ३-१०९-२ ॥
'And the protector of mankind, upon arriving at the healthy hill of Hemakuta, beheld many wondrous and incomprehensible sights.' ॥ 3-109-2 ॥
english translation
वाचॊ यत्राभवन मेघा उपलाश च सहस्रशः नाशक्नुवंस तम आरॊढुं विषण्णमनसॊ जनाः ॥ ३-१०९-३ ॥
'There, the very sound of speech summoned forth clouds and a thousand showers of stones. Upon witnessing this, the people were filled with sorrow and found themselves unable to ascend the hill.' ॥ 3-109-3 ॥
english translation
वायुर नित्यं ववौ यत्र नित्यं देवश च वर्षति सायंप्रातश च भगवान दृश्यते हव्यवाहनः ॥ ३-१०९-४ ॥
'There, the winds blew endlessly, and the heavens continuously poured down rain. The sacred recitations echoed in the air, yet no one could be seen.' ॥ 3-109-4 ॥

एवं बहुविधान भावान अद्भुतान वीक्ष्य पाण्डवः लॊमशं पुनर एव सम पर्यपृच्छत तद अद्भुतम ॥ ३-१०९-५ ॥
'Having seen many such wonderful phenomena/sights, the Pandava again asked Lomasha about these marvels.' ॥ 3-109-5 ॥
