समुद्रं च समासाद्य गङ्गया सहितॊ नृपः पूरयाम आस वेगेन समुद्रं वरुणालयम ॥ ३-१०८-१६ ॥
'Accompanied by Ganga, the protector of men, Bhagiratha arrived at the sea, quickly filling the waters of Varuna's domain.' ॥ 3-108-16 ॥

samudraM ca samAsAdya gaGgayA sahitò nRpaH pUrayAma Asa vegena samudraM varuNAlayama ॥ 3-108-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदुहितृत्वे च नृपतिर गङ्गां समनुकल्पयत पितॄणां चॊदकं यत्र ददौ पूर्णमनॊ रथः ॥ ३-१०८-१७ ॥
'Embracing Ganga as his own daughter, the king offered libations of water in honor of his forefathers, thereby fulfilling the deepest wish of his heart.' ॥ 3-108-17 ॥

duhitRtve ca nRpatira gaGgAM samanukalpayata pitRRNAM còdakaM yatra dadau pUrNamanò rathaH ॥ 3-108-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएतत ते सर्वम आख्यातं गङ्गा तरिपथ गा यथा पूरणार्थं समुद्रस्य पृथिवीम अवतारिता ॥ ३-१०८-१८ ॥
'Thus, as you requested, I have recounted the entire tale: how the Ganga, flowing in three streams, was brought down to the earth to fill the sea.' ॥ 3-108-18 ॥

etata te sarvama AkhyAtaM gaGgA taripatha gA yathA pUraNArthaM samudrasya pRthivIma avatAritA ॥ 3-108-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसमुद्रश च यथा पीतः कारणार्थे महात्मना वातापिश च यथा नीतः कषयं स बरह्म हा परभॊ अगस्त्येन महाराज यन मां तवं परिपृच्छसि ॥ ३-१०८-१९ ॥
'How the great sage consumed the ocean for a noble purpose; and how, O Lord, Vatapi, the slayer of Brahmanas, met his fate at the hands of Agastya.' ॥ 3-108-19 ॥
