समुद्रं च समासाद्य गङ्गया सहितॊ नृपः पूरयाम आस वेगेन समुद्रं वरुणालयम ।। ३-१०८-१६ ।।

sanskrit

'Accompanied by Ganga, the protector of men, Bhagiratha arrived at the sea, quickly filling the waters of Varuna's domain.' ।। 3-108-16 ।।

english translation

samudraM ca samAsAdya gaGgayA sahitò nRpaH pUrayAma Asa vegena samudraM varuNAlayama || 3-108-16 ||

'Embracing Ganga as his own daughter, the king offered libations of water in honor of his forefathers, thereby fulfilling the deepest wish of his heart.' ।। 3-108-17 ।।

duhitRtve ca nRpatira gaGgAM samanukalpayata pitRRNAM còdakaM yatra dadau pUrNamanò rathaH || 3-108-17 ||

'How the great sage consumed the ocean for a noble purpose; and how, O Lord, Vatapi, the slayer of Brahmanas, met his fate at the hands of Agastya.' ।। 3-108-19 ।।
