जगत्य उपशमं याते नष्टयज्ञॊत्सव करिये आजग्मुः परमाम आर्तिं तरिदशा मनुजेश्वर ।। ३-१००-१६ ।।

sanskrit

'And, O lord of men, as the universe faced destruction and the sacrificial festivals and religious rites were suspended, the gods were profoundly troubled.' ।। 3-100-16 ।।

english translation

jagatya upazamaM yAte naSTayajJòtsava kariye AjagmuH paramAma ArtiM taridazA manujezvara || 3-100-16 ||

hk transliteration

समेत्य समहेन्द्राश च भयान मन्त्रं परचक्रिरे नारायणं पुरस्कृत्य वैकुण्ठम अपराजितम ।। ३-१००-१७ ।।

sanskrit

'Gathering together with Indra at their center, the gods began to confer with one another in fear. They then turned to the exalted and eternal Narayana, the invincible deity of Vaikuntha, seeking his protection.' ।। 3-100-17 ।।

english translation

sametya samahendrAza ca bhayAna mantraM paracakrire nArAyaNaM puraskRtya vaikuNThama aparAjitama || 3-100-17 ||

ततॊ देवाः समेतास ते तदॊचुर मधुसूदनम तवं नः सरष्टा च पाता च भर्ता च जगतः परभॊ तवया सृष्टम इदं सर्वं यच चेङ्गं यच च नेङ्गति ।। ३-१००-१८ ।।

sanskrit

'Bowing before the slayer of Madhu, the gods addressed him, saying, 'O Lord, you are the creator, protector, and the one who brings destruction to both us and the universe. You are the one who has fashioned this cosmos, with all its mobile and immobile beings.'' ।। 3-100-18 ।।

english translation

tatò devAH sametAsa te tadòcura madhusUdanama tavaM naH saraSTA ca pAtA ca bhartA ca jagataH parabhò tavayA sRSTama idaM sarvaM yaca ceGgaM yaca ca neGgati || 3-100-18 ||

hk transliteration

तवया भूमिः पुरा नष्टा समुद्रात पुस्करेक्षण वाराहं रूपम आस्थाय जगद अर्थे समुद्धृता ।। ३-१००-१९ ।।

sanskrit

'O one with eyes like lotus petals, it was you who, in ancient times, raised the sunken earth from the depths of the ocean, assuming the form of a boar for the benefit of all creatures.' ।। 3-100-19 ।।

english translation

tavayA bhUmiH purA naSTA samudrAta puskarekSaNa vArAhaM rUpama AsthAya jagada arthe samuddhRtA || 3-100-19 ||

hk transliteration

आदि दैत्यॊ महावीर्यॊ हिरण्यकशिपुस तवया नारसिंहं वपुः कृत्वा सूदितः पुरुषॊत्तम ।। ३-१००-२० ।।

sanskrit

'And, O best of beings, you assumed the form of the half-man, half-lion and, in ancient times, vanquished the formidable Daitya known as Hiranyakashipu.' ।। 3-100-20 ।।

Adi daityò mahAvIryò hiraNyakazipusa tavayA nArasiMhaM vapuH kRtvA sUditaH puruSòttama || 3-100-20 ||
