एतैर्हि सहितः सर्वैः पाण्डवैः स्वैश्च भारत । अन्यान्विजेष्यसे शत्रूनेष स्वार्थस्तवाखिलः॥५-९३-२६॥
For when you are united with all these Pāṇḍavas and with your own people, O Bhārata, you will overcome other foes; this is wholly in your own interest.
english translation
तैरेवोपार्जितां भूमिं भोक्ष्यसे च परंतप । यदि संपत्स्यसे पुत्रैः सहामात्यैर्नराधिप॥५-९३-२७॥
You will enjoy the very realm they acquired, O chastiser of foes—if you come to an understanding together with your sons and ministers, O ruler of men.
english translation
संयुगे वै महाराज दृश्यते सुमहान्क्षयः । क्षये चोभयतो राजन्कं धर्ममनुपश्यसि॥५-९३-२८॥
In battle, O great king, a very great destruction is seen; and when loss falls on both sides, O king, what dharma do you discern in it?
english translation
पाण्डवैर्निहतैः संख्ये पुत्रैर्वापि महाबलैः । यद्विन्देथाः सुखं राजंस्तद्ब्रूहि भरतर्षभ॥५-९३-२९॥
If in battle the Pāṇḍavas were brought down—or even your own mighty sons—what comfort would you gain, O king? Tell me that, O bull among the Bhāratas.
english translation
शूराश्च हि कृतास्त्राश्च सर्वे युद्धाभिकाङ्क्षिणः । पाण्डवास्तावकाश्चैव तान्रक्ष महतो भयात्॥५-९३-३०॥
For all are valorous and trained in weapons, and all are inclined toward armed engagement—both the Pāṇḍavas and your own party. Protect them from a great calamity.
