सेयमापन्महाघोरा कुरुष्वेव समुत्थिता । उपेक्ष्यमाणा कौरव्य पृथिवीं घातयिष्यति॥५-९३-११॥
This grave and formidable crisis has arisen among the Kurus themselves. If neglected, O Kauravya, it will bring widespread devastation upon the earth.
english translation
शक्या चेयं शमयितुं त्वं चेदिच्छसि भारत । न दुष्करो ह्यत्र शमो मतो मे भरतर्षभ॥५-९३-१२॥
This crisis can be pacified, if you so desire, O Bhārata. In my judgment, reconciliation here is not difficult, O best of the Bharatas.
english translation
त्वय्यधीनः शमो राजन्मयि चैव विशां पते । पुत्रान्स्थापय कौरव्य स्थापयिष्याम्यहं परान्॥५-९३-१३॥
Peace depends upon you, O king, and also upon me, O lord of the people. Establish your sons in proper conduct, O Kauravya; I will establish the others.
english translation
आज्ञा तव हि राजेन्द्र कार्या पुत्रैः सहान्वयैः । हितं बलवदप्येषां तिष्ठतां तव शासने॥५-९३-१४॥
Your command, O lord of kings, must be carried out by your sons together with their supporters. Even if they are influential, their welfare lies in remaining under your governance.
english translation
तव चैव हितं राजन्पाण्डवानामथो हितम् । शमे प्रयतमानस्य मम शासनकाङ्क्षिणाम्॥५-९३-१५॥
It is for your welfare, O king, and also for the welfare of the Pāṇḍavas—and for mine as well, as I strive for reconciliation and seek orderly governance.
