दुर्बुद्धीनामशिष्टानां बहूनां पापचेतसाम् । प्रतीपं वचनं मध्ये तव कृष्ण न रोचते॥५-९०-१६॥
In the midst of many ill-judging, uncultivated, ill-intentioned men, hostile speech directed at you, O Kṛṣṇa, does not seem acceptable to me.
english translation
अनुपासितवृद्धत्वाच्छ्रिया मोहाच्च दर्पितः । वयोदर्पादमर्षाच्च न ते श्रेयो ग्रहीष्यति॥५-९०-१७॥
Because he has not served elders, and because prosperity has deluded him into arrogance, and due to the pride of youth and intolerance, he will not accept what is beneficial as you advise.
english translation
बलं बलवदप्यस्य यदि वक्ष्यसि माधव । त्वय्यस्य महती शङ्का न करिष्यति ते वचः॥५-९०-१८॥
O Mādhava, even if you speak to him of strength and the strong, he will not follow your counsel; for he harbors great suspicion toward you and will not heed your words.
english translation
नेदमद्य युधा शक्यमिन्द्रेणापि सहामरैः । इति व्यवसिताः सर्वे धार्तराष्ट्रा जनार्दन॥५-९०-१९॥
O Janārdana, all the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra are resolved thus: “Today this cannot be accomplished by battle-craft and engagement, not even by Indra together with the gods.”

तेष्वेवमुपपन्नेषु कामक्रोधानुवर्तिषु । समर्थमपि ते वाक्यमसमर्थं भविष्यति॥५-९०-२०॥
When they are thus disposed—following desire and anger—even your capable speech will become ineffective.
