“Nothing fitting should be returned to the Pāṇḍavas by us”—having resolved thus, any speech to them would become futile.

english translation

O Madhusūdana, where well-spoken counsel and ill-spoken talk are treated as the same, a wise person should not speak at length—like a singer among the deaf.

english translation

O Mādhava, among the ignorant, deluded, and unrestrained, it is not fitting for you to offer counsel—just as a learned twice-born would not properly give refined instruction among caṇḍālas.

english translation

This man, secure in power and deluded, will not act upon your words; therefore, what you say to him will prove futile.

english translation

When all those ill-intentioned men are seated together, your entering into their midst does not commend itself to me, O Kṛṣṇa.
