न च वित्तेन शक्योऽसौ नोद्यमेन न गर्हया । अन्यो धनंजयात्कर्तुमेतत्तत्त्वं ब्रवीमि ते॥५-८५-११॥
And he cannot be swayed by wealth, nor by exertion, nor by reproach. No one can make him act against Dhanañjaya (Arjuna)—this is the reality I tell you.
english translation
वेद कृष्णस्य माहात्म्यं वेदास्य दृढभक्तिताम् । अत्याज्यमस्य जानामि प्राणैस्तुल्यं धनंजयम्॥५-८५-१२॥
He knows Kṛṣṇa’s greatness; he knows his steadfast devotion. I know that Dhanañjaya is for him not to be abandoned—equal to his own life-breath.
english translation
अन्यत्कुम्भादपां पूर्णादन्यत्पादावसेचनात् । अन्यत्कुशलसंप्रश्नान्नैषिष्यति जनार्दनः॥५-८५-१३॥
Janārdana will seek something other than a water-filled vessel, something other than the washing of feet, and something other than courteous inquiries about well-being.
english translation
यत्त्वस्य प्रियमातिथ्यं मानार्हस्य महात्मनः । तदस्मै क्रियतां राजन्मानार्हो हि जनार्दनः॥५-८५-१४॥
Whatever form of welcome and hospitality pleases you, O King, let it be offered to that great-souled one who deserves honor; for Janārdana is indeed worthy of reverence.

आशंसमानः कल्याणं कुरूनभ्येति केशवः । येनैव राजन्नर्थेन तदेवास्मा उपाकुरु॥५-८५-१५॥
Keśava approaches the Kurus hoping for a благоприятный outcome. Therefore, O King, assist him precisely in the purpose for which he has come.
