O king, whatever abundant gifts you intend to give Kṛṣṇa as a guest—Dāśārha is worthy of that and of more; indeed, he is worthy even of the earth itself, of sovereignty.

english translation

But you do not desire this for Kṛṣṇa with dharma in view, nor out of regard for what is pleasing to him. I speak this truth plainly, staking my own integrity upon it.

english translation

This is deception; in truth it is mere disguise, O you skilled in elaborate stratagems. O king, I know your intention, concealed beneath outward conduct.

english translation

O king, the Pāṇḍavas seek only five villages each; yet you do not wish to grant even those—who, then, will bring about pacification?

english translation

Rather, by means of wealth you seek to sway the mighty-armed Vārṣṇeya (Kṛṣṇa); by this very stratagem you also aim to create fear among the Pāṇḍavas.
