In my judgment, Karṇa is equal to Bhīṣma, Droṇa, and Kṛpa; and he was affirmed by Rāma (Paraśurāma): ‘You are my equal,’ O Bhārata.

english translation

Karṇa possessed two radiant, auspicious earrings, innate to him. For Śacī’s sake, Mahendra (Indra) begged them from that scorcher of foes; and in exchange, O great king, he was granted an unfailing, exceedingly formidable spear.

english translation

When he is armed with that spear, how could Dhanañjaya survive? My victory is certain, O king—like a fruit already placed in one’s hand; and the complete defeat of the others upon the earth is, in effect, already manifest.

english translation

In a single day, this Bhīṣma can strike down ten thousand combatants, O Bhārata. Comparable to him in martial might are the great bowmen Droṇa, Drauṇi, and Kṛpa as well.

english translation

And there are companies of kṣatriyas bound by vow, O scorcher of foes, who declare: “We shall take Arjuna—or else he shall take us.” Thus indeed they speak, O Dhanaṃjaya.
