O bull among the Bharatas, many of these are his false utterances—mere boastful talk—coming from one who habitually undermines both dharma and artha.

english translation

Having heard Bhīṣma’s words, the great-minded Bhāradvāja addressed Dhṛtarāṣṭra in the midst of the kings, honoring him with due respect.

english translation

O king, let what Bhīṣma, the foremost of the Bharatas, has said be carried out. You ought not comply with the words of those driven by desire and greed for gain.

english translation

Before any engagement in war, I deem it proper to seek a meeting with the Pāṇḍavas—especially in light of the statement spoken by Arjuna and reported by Sañjaya.

english translation

I understand all of that fully, and the Pāṇḍava will indeed carry it out; for among the three worlds there is no archer equal to him.
