When that heedless man sees the enemy’s arrows, once released, driven back against their course by my shafts, and cleft crosswise by razor-edged missiles, then the Dhārtarāṣṭra will be sorely distressed in the engagement.

english translation

When those broad-bladed missiles, loosed from my arms—like birds dropping fruits from the treetops—sever the heads of young warriors, then the Dhārtarāṣṭra will feel grievous distress in the engagement.

english translation

When he sees warriors falling from chariots, from great elephants, and from horses—struck by arrows and cast down upon the field—then the Dhārtarāṣṭra will be severely distressed in the engagement.

english translation

Like Time with gaping jaws, I shall advance from every side upon the massed infantry and the chariot-formations, driving the foes back with blazing showers of arrows; then the dull-minded one will taste remorse.

english translation

When he beholds his own forces thrown into confusion—scattered to every quarter by the onrushing chariot and cut down by the Gāṇḍīva amid dust and disorder—then, later, the dull-minded one will repent.
