Employing stratagem and concealment, by vigilance and apparent straightforwardness, by austerity and self-restraint, by the protection of dharma, and by force—speaking truth while also using agreeable but untrue speech, enduring and yet being strained beyond measure—

english translation

When the eldest Pāṇḍava, disciplined in self, releases the dreadful anger he has restrained for many years against the Kurus of perverted intent, then the Dhārtarāṣṭra will regret the battle that follows.

english translation

As a fire, blazing and fully kindled, with a dark path of smoke, would consume dry brush in the heat of summer—so, when Yudhiṣṭhira, inflamed with anger, turns his gaze, the Dhārtarāṣṭra host would be brought to ruin.

english translation

When Dhārtarāṣṭra (Duryodhana) beholds Bhīmasena stationed on the field of battle, mace in hand, as though spewing forth the “poison” of wrath—unyielding, a Pāṇḍava of Bhīma-like impetus—then will he repent of having chosen war.

english translation

Like a great lion entering among cattle, Bhīma—mace in hand—draws near to the Dhārtarāṣṭras; in his dreadful aspect, a decisive slayer of foes: then will Dhārtarāṣṭra (Duryodhana) regret the war.
