In great peril, fearless and fully trained in arms, in the clash he would crush the enemy’s might—driving but once with his chariot against masses of chariots, and with the mace striking down the ranks of infantry.

english translation

When he, with fierce speed, crushes many divisions of Dhārtarāṣṭra’s host, hewing through them as a hero fells a forest with an axe, then will Dhārtarāṣṭra (Duryodhana) regret the war.

english translation

As one beholds a village burned by fire as though it were mere grass, so will Dhārtarāṣṭra, gazing upon his own vast host laid low—like ripened crops scorched by lightning—look on it in utter devastation.

english translation

When his host—its foremost fighters struck down—turns away, anguished by fear and largely unwilling to rejoin the fight, as though “scorched” by Bhīmasena in the blaze of weapons, then Dhārtarāṣṭra (Duryodhana) will regret the war.

english translation

Nakula, a warrior of many skills, drawing his weapon from the belt with his right hand, would strike down foes by the hundreds; when that foremost of chariot-fighters, alert and discerning, is seen, then Dhārtarāṣṭra (Duryodhana) will regret the war.
