If, in this way and under the pretext of circumstance, you Pārthas pursue a sinful course for a long time, then you Pāṇḍavas will dwell for many years in the forests—an arduous abode—supposedly for the sake of dharma.

english translation

Before you entered exile, when you had earlier marshaled your resources, the strength you possessed was under your own command. And these Pāñcālas were ever your allies; so too were Janārdana (Kṛṣṇa) and the heroic Yuyudhāna.

english translation

The Matsya king Virāṭa—Rukmaratha with his son, together with his fighters and sons—and the kings who were previously subdued: all of them would take refuge in you alone.

english translation

With mighty support, standing amid a formidable host and honored by Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa) and Arjuna, you would decisively subdue the hostile champions in the very center of battle, and you would dispel the arrogance of the Dhārtarāṣṭra party.

english translation

Why did you increase the strength of the other side, and why did you wear down your own allies? Why, after being constrained for many years in the forests, do you now wish to enter conflict at an inopportune time, O Pāṇḍava?
