Food given to Brahmins—obtained by just means, purified by faith, and endowed with proper fragrance and taste—when offered in rites together with excellent dakṣiṇā, is declared for you to be an act of commendable character.

english translation

In this field of embodied life, O Pārtha, what must be done is done here; after death there is no further task to undertake. You have accomplished the work for the other world: a great merit, repeatedly praised by the virtuous.

english translation

There one leaves behind death, aging, and fear; there is no hunger or thirst, nor any displeasure of mind. No duty exists there of any kind—except, as it were, the satisfaction of the senses.

english translation

O king, such is the fruit of action, as weighed by one dear to the heart and endowed with discernment. O Pāṇḍava, do not for long abandon either of the two domains—what is born of anger and what is born of joy; be not driven by either extreme alone.

english translation

When one reaches the culmination of deeds, what is praised is truthfulness, self-restraint, straightforwardness, and non-cruelty. Even the Aśvamedha and the Rājasūya are but meritorious acts of that kind; do not return again to the final end of sinful action.
