Does King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, together with his sons, ever overlook transgressions against the brāhmaṇas? And does he, as though without cause, neglect any brāhmaṇa among them who lives in scant means—one who has become, as it were, a “path,” a guide and standard for others?

May King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, together with his sons, desire to uphold the proper livelihood of his ministers. And may those who wear the guise of friends yet are enemies at heart—feigning single-minded loyalty—not seek to survive by sowing dissension.

I pray, O Sire, that not all the Kauravas speak evil of the Pāṇḍavas. Having seen the gathered hordes of Dasyus, do they remember Pārtha (Arjuna), the leader of battles?

O dear one, do they recall those straight-flying arrows, thunder-voiced, loosed from the Gāṇḍīva by that archer who violently shakes his bow, driven by the might of his arms and bowstring?
