गर्जन्निव महामेघो रथघोषेण वीर्यवान् । सिंहसंहननो वीरः सिंहविक्रान्तविक्रमः॥५-१४९-२१॥
Powerful, he sounded like a great cloud thundering through the roar of his chariot; a hero with a lion-like frame, whose advances and exertions were lion-like.

सिंहोरस्को महाबाहुः सिंहवक्षा महाबलः । सिंहप्रगर्जनो वीरः सिंहस्कन्धो महाद्युतिः॥५-१४९-२२॥
Lion-chested, long-armed, lion-breasted, and of great strength—roaring like a lion—this hero had lion-like shoulders and great radiance.

सुभ्रूः सुदंष्ट्रः सुहनुः सुबाहुः सुमुखोऽकृशः । सुजत्रुः सुविशालाक्षः सुपादः सुप्रतिष्ठितः॥५-१४९-२३॥
With fine eyebrows, strong teeth, a well-formed jaw, excellent arms, a pleasing face, and a robust frame; with a well-shaped neck, very large eyes, fine feet, and a firm stance.

अभेद्यः सर्वशस्त्राणां प्रभिन्न इव वारणः । जज्ञे द्रोणविनाशाय सत्यवादी जितेन्द्रियः॥५-१४९-२४॥
Impenetrable to all weapons, like a rutting elephant, he was born for the strategic undoing of Droṇa—truth-speaking and self-controlled.

धृष्टद्युम्नमहं मन्ये सहेद्भीष्मस्य सायकान् । वज्राशनिसमस्पर्शान्दीप्तास्यानुरगानिव॥५-१४९-२५॥
I consider that Dhṛṣṭadyumna could withstand Bhīṣma’s arrows—whose touch is like a thunderbolt—like serpents with blazing mouths.
