Vaiśaṃpāyana said: When Kṛṣṇa’s effort at conciliation had failed and the Pāṇḍavas had departed from the Kurus, the chamberlain Vidura approached Pṛthā (Kuntī) and, as though grieving, spoke to her in a low voice.

english translation

You know, dear lady, my constant disposition of goodwill and favor. Yet Suyodhana does not accept my counsel, even when I cry out to him in urgency.

english translation

For that king, Yudhiṣṭhira, is firmly supported—by the Cedis, the Pāñcālas, and the Kekayas; and also by Bhīma and Arjuna, by Kṛṣṇa, and by Yuyudhāna and allies formidable as Yama.

english translation

Though settled at Upaplavya, Yudhiṣṭhira seeks only dharma. Out of goodwill toward his kinsmen, he longs for concord—like a strong man acting as though he were weak.

english translation

But this king Dhṛtarāṣṭra—though advanced in years—does not grow calm; intoxicated by attachment to his son, he continues upon a path contrary to dharma.
