Therefore, in the engagement, in a chariot-duel, he chose me—O Acyuta—as the one to advance against him, with great satisfaction, as the principal opponent of Savyasācin (Arjuna).

english translation

O Janārdana, whether from fear of death, imprisonment, intimidation, or even from greed and inducement, I cannot bring myself to speak untruth concerning the wise son of Dhṛtarāṣṭra.

english translation

If today I did not go to a chariot-duel with Savyasācin (Arjuna), O Hṛṣīkeśa, disrepute would befall us both—me and Pārtha alike.

english translation

Without doubt, you should speak for their welfare, O Madhusūdana; and the Pāṇḍavas will do everything, guided by your influence—of this there is no doubt.

english translation

Here, O Puruṣottama, you should uphold the discipline of counsel—confidentiality and due restraint. I deem this the beneficial course in this matter, O delight of all the Yādavas.
