english translation

Knowing matters to be thus, I will not give up this Śacī—Indrāṇī, renowned in the world, the beloved queen-consort of Śakra (Indra).

english translation

Let that be done, O best of the gods, which would be for her welfare and also for my welfare; for I will not hand over Śacī.

english translation

Śalya said: Then the gods addressed him—Bṛhaspati, the preceptor, the foremost of the Aṅgirases: “How may sound policy be achieved? Advise us, O Bṛhaspati.”

english translation

Bṛhaspati said: Let the auspicious goddess ask Nahuṣa for a brief interval of time. This will indeed secure Indrāṇī’s welfare, and likewise our own.
