All of you are greatly blessed, and so too are the Gandharvas in every respect. Everything you have spoken has been fully heard by me; now, O blameless ones, listen also to what I have to say.

english translation

How, indeed, could a settlement arise between Śakra and me—between us both? For, O devas, how could friendship arise between two powers of such blazing intensity?

english translation

The sages said: One should seek even a single association with the virtuous; thereafter, what ought to occur will occur. One should not transgress an association made with a good person; therefore, association with the virtuous is to be sought.

english translation

Let one’s fellowship with the virtuous be steadfast and unceasing; and in times of hardship, the resolute should speak words that are purposeful and beneficial. Great indeed is the worth of keeping company with the good; therefore the steady-minded should not seek to harm a righteous person.

english translation

Indra is approved by the virtuous and is a refuge for the great-souled. He speaks truth, is not cast down, and stands firmly resolved in the knowledge of dharma.
