याच्यमानः सुबहुशो मया हितचिकीर्षुणा । वैदेहीमुत्सृजस्वेति न च तत्कृतवान्वचः ॥ ६-८४-११
"Though I pleaded Ravana to return Vaidehi for his welfare, he did not accept my word." [6-84-11]
english translation
नैव साम्ना न भेदेन न दानेन कुतो युधा । सा द्रष्टुमपि शक्येत नैव चान्येन केन चित् ॥ ६-८४-१२
"She can't be perceived by recourse, by charity, by dissension or even by war. Why again any other means. There is no chance." [6-84-12]
english translation
वानरान्मोहयित्वा तु प्रतियातः स राक्षसः । मायामयीं महाबाहो तां विद्धि जनकात्मजाम् ॥ ६-८४-१३
That Rakshasa by hoodwinking the Vanaras withdrew from the battlefield. O mighty armed one! Killing of Janaki is an illusion. [6-84-13]

चैत्यं निकुम्भिलां नाम यत्र होमं करिष्यति । हुतवानुपयातो हि देवैरपि सवासवैः ॥ ६-८४-१४
"To-day he (Indrajita) is going to the sacrificial ground of Nikumbhila to offer an oblation. Having performed the sacrifice, on leaving, even to the Gods led by Indra (Vasava) - [6-84-14]

दुराधर्षो भवत्येष सङ्ग्रामे रावणात्मजः । तेन मोहयता नूनमेषा माया प्रयोजिता ॥ ६-८४-१५
- the son of Ravana will be invincible in battle. Certainly, this conjuring trick (in the form of killing an illusory living effigy of Sita) was exhibited by him, who was employing his magical art - [6-84-15]
