प्रक्षिप्ताःकुम्बकर्णेनवक्त्रेपातालसन्निभे । नासापुटाभ्यांनिर्जग्मुःकर्णाभ्यांचैववानराः ॥ ६-६७-३६
As Kumbhakarna thrust Vanaras into his mouth, the Vanaras came out through his nostrils and also through his ears. [6-67-36]
english translation
भक्ष्यन्भृशसङ्क्रुद्धो हरीन् पर्वतसन्निभः । बभञ्जवानरान् सर्वान् सङ्क्रुद्धोराक्षसोत्तमः ॥ ६-६७-३७
The foremost of the Rakshasas, who resembled a mountain became enraged and mutilated the Vanaras and (before) devouring them. [6-67-37]
english translation
मांसशोणितसंक्लेदाकुर्वन् भूमिं स राक्षसः । चचारहरिनैन्येषुकालानगिरिवमूर्छितः ॥ ६-६७-३८
That terrible Rakshasa swooning and wetting the ground with flesh and blood ranged through the army of Vanaras like fire at the time of dissolution of the universe. [6-67-38]
english translation
वज्रहस्तो यथा शक्रः पाशहस्त इवान्तकः । शूलहस्तो बभौ कुम्भकर्णो महाबलः ॥ ६-६७-३९
Holding pike in hand, mighty Kumbhakarna was shining in the battlefield like Indra holding thunderbolt, and like Lord of Death holding the noose. [6-67-39]
english translation
यथा शुष्काण्यरण्यानि ग्रीष्मे दहति पावकः । तथा वानरसैन्यानि कुम्भकर्णो ददाह सः ॥ ६-६७-४०
Just as fire god consumes dried forest in summer, Kumbhakarna was consuming the Vanara army. [6-67-40]
