निद्रावशसमाविष्टःकुम्भकर्णोविबोद्यताम् । सुखंस्वपितिनिश्चिन्तःकालोपहतचेतनः ॥ ६-६०-१६
''Also let Kumbhakarna be aroused from sleep. (Kumbhakarna) is sleeping happily, his understanding vitiated by lust and free from all anxieties.'' [6-60-16]
english translation
नवषट् सप्तचाष्टौचमासान् स्वपितिराक्षसः । मन्त्रयित्वाप्रसुप्तोऽयमितस्तुनवमेऽहनि ॥ ६-६०-१७
''The Rakshasa, Kumbhakarna, sleeps for nine, seven, ten or eight months. Having deliberated with me nine days ago, he has since fallen asleep.'' [6-60-17]
english translation
तंतुबोधयतक्षिप्रंकुम्भकर्णंमहाबलम् । सतुसङ् ख्येमहाबाहुःककुदस्सर्वरक्षसाम् । वानरान् राजपुत्रौचक्षिप्रमेवहनिष्यति ॥ ६-६०-१८
''Awaken quickly that mighty Kumbhakarna. Endowed with broad shoulders, he is the foremost of Rakshasas. He will crush many Vanaras immediately and the two princes (Rama and Lakshmana)." [6-60-18]
english translation
एषःकेतुःपरंसङ् ख्येमुख्योवैसर्वरक्षसाम् । कुम्भकर्णःसदाशेतेमूढोग्राम्यसुखेरतः ॥ ६-६०-१९
"He, (Kumbhakarna) is the foremost chief among all Rakshasas enumerated. In that way he is distinguished. But he is insensate, remains addicted always to indecent delight in the form of sleep." [6-60-19]
english translation
रामेणहिनिरस्तस्यसङ्ग्रामेऽस्मिन् सुदारुणे । भविष्यतिनमेशोकःकुम्भकर्णेविबोधिते ॥ ६-६०-२०
"After Kumbhakarna is fully aroused, my sorrow impelled in this terrible combat with Rama will not be there." [6-60-20]
