संमिते पुष्कराणां च सनात्वार्च्य पितृदेवताः जामदग्न्येन रामेण आहृते वै महात्मना कृतकृत्यॊ भवेद राजन्न अश्वमेधं च विन्दति ॥ ३-८१-२१ ॥

'Created by the high-souled Rama, the son of Jamadagni, it is equal to the sacred Pushkaras. By bathing there and worshipping the Pitris and the deities, O king, one attains the merit of the horse sacrifice and achieves success in all endeavors.' ॥ 3-81-21 ॥

saMmite puSkarANAM ca sanAtvArcya pitRdevatAH jAmadagnyena rAmeNa AhRte vai mahAtmanA kRtakRtyò bhaveda rAjanna azvamedhaM ca vindati ॥ 3-81-21 ॥

ततॊ रामह्रदान गच्छेत तीर्थसेवी नराधिप यत्र रामेण राजेन्द्र तरसा दीप्ततेजसा कषत्रम उत्साद्य वीर्येण हरदाः पञ्च निवेशिताः ॥ ३-८१-२२ ॥

'The pilgrim should next proceed with a focused mind to the Rama-hrada. There, O king, the valiant Rama, endowed with radiant energy, exterminated the Kshatriyas by his might, digging five lakes and filling them, O tiger among men, with the blood of his vanquished foes, as we have heard.' ॥ 3-81-22 ॥

tatò rAmahradAna gaccheta tIrthasevI narAdhipa yatra rAmeNa rAjendra tarasA dIptatejasA kaSatrama utsAdya vIryeNa haradAH paJca nivezitAH ॥ 3-81-22 ॥

पूरयित्वा नरव्याघ्र रुधिरेणेति नः शरुतम पितरस तर्पिताः सर्वे तथैव च पिता महाः ततस ते पितरः परीता रामम ऊचुर महीपते ॥ ३-८१-२३ ॥

'Having filled those lakes with Kshatriya blood, Rama offered blood oblations to his ancestors. Pleased with the offerings, the Rishis then addressed Rama, saying;' ॥ 3-81-23 ॥

pUrayitvA naravyAghra rudhireNeti naH zarutama pitarasa tarpitAH sarve tathaiva ca pitA mahAH tatasa te pitaraH parItA rAmama Ucura mahIpate ॥ 3-81-23 ॥

रम राम महाभाग परीताः सम तव भार्गव अनया पितृभक्त्या च विक्रमेण च ते विभॊ वरं वृणीष्व भद्रं ते किम इच्छसि महाद्युते ॥ ३-८१-२४ ॥

'O Rama, O great one of good fortune, we are gratified by your regard for the Pitris and by your prowess, O exalted one of the Bhrigu race! Blessed be you; ask for the boon of your choice. What do you desire, O one of great splendor?' ॥ 3-81-24 ॥

rama rAma mahAbhAga parItAH sama tava bhArgava anayA pitRbhaktyA ca vikrameNa ca te vibhò varaM vRNISva bhadraM te kima icchasi mahAdyute ॥ 3-81-24 ॥

एवम उक्तः स राजेन्द्र रामः परहरतां वरः अब्रवीत पराञ्जलिर वाक्यं पितॄन स गगने सथितान ॥ ३-८१-२५ ॥

'Thus addressed, Rama, the foremost of warriors, spoke with joined hands these words to the Pitris stationed in the heavens:' ॥ 3-81-25 ॥
