नर्मदाम अथ चासाद्य नदीं तरैलॊक्यविश्रुताम तर्पयित्वा पितॄन देवान अग्निष्टॊम फलं लभेत ।। ३-८०-७१ ।।

sanskrit

'Upon arriving at the revered Narmada, known throughout the three worlds, and offering water oblations to the Pitris and the gods, one attains the rewards of a horse sacrifice.' ।। 3-80-71 ।।

english translation

narmadAma atha cAsAdya nadIM tarailòkyavizrutAma tarpayitvA pitRRna devAna agniSTòma phalaM labheta || 3-80-71 ||

'One who enters the Southern Ocean, living a life of Brahmacharya and with senses subdued, attains the rewards of the Agnistoma sacrifice and ascends to heaven.' ।। 3-80-72 ।।

'Having reached the Charmanwati River, with a regulated diet and senses subdued, one, by the command of Rantideva, gains the merit of the Agniṣṭoma sacrifice.' ।। 3-80-73 ।।

'One should then proceed, O virtuous chief of warriors, to Mount Arbuda, the son of Himavat, where, in ancient times, there was a great chasm in the earth.' ।। 3-80-74 ।।
