अथ विप्रॊषितं वीरं पाञ्चाली मध्यमं पतिम समरन्ती पाण्डवश्रेष्ठम इदं वचनम अब्रवीत ॥ ३-७९-११ ॥
'The princess of Panchala, recalling her third husband, spoke to the distressed Yudhishthira and said:' ॥ 3-79-11 ॥
english translation
यॊ ऽरजुनेनार्जुनस तुल्यॊ दविबाहुर बहु बाहुना तम ऋते पाण्डवश्रेष्ठं वनं न परतिभाति मे शून्याम इव च पश्यामि तत्र तत्र महीम इमाम ॥ ३-७९-१२ ॥
'Alas, without that foremost of the Pandavas, this forest appears utterly devoid of beauty in my eyes. That Arjuna, who, with his two arms, rivals the thousand-armed Arjuna of old, is greatly missed.' ॥ 3-79-12 ॥
english translation
बह्वाश्चर्यम इदं चापि वनं कुसुमितद्रुमम न तथा रमणीयं मे तम ऋते सव्यसाचिनम ॥ ३-७९-१३ ॥
'Without him, wherever I gaze, this earth appears desolate. Even this forest, adorned with blooming trees and filled with wonders, seems far less enchanting in Arjuna's absence.' ॥ 3-79-13 ॥
english translation
नीलाम्बुदसमप्रख्यं मत्तमातङ्गविक्रमम तम ऋते पुण्डरीकाक्षं काम्यकं नातिभाति मे ॥ ३-७९-१४ ॥
'Without him, who is as dark as a mass of blue clouds, possesses the might of a raging elephant, and whose eyes are like the petals of a lotus, this Kamyaka forest fails to enchant me.' ॥ 3-79-14 ॥
english translation
यस्य सम धनुषॊ घॊषः शरूयते ऽशनिनिस्वनः न लभे शर्म तं राजन समरन्ती सव्यसाचिनम ॥ ३-७९-१५ ॥
'Recalling that hero, skilled in drawing the bow with his left hand, whose bowstring twangs like the roar of thunder, I find no happiness, O king!' ॥ 3-79-15 ॥
