सत्रीस्वभावश चलॊ लॊके मम दॊषश च दारुणः सयाद एवम अपि कुर्यात सा विवशा गतसौहृदा मम शॊकेन संविग्ना नैराश्यात तनुमध्यमा ॥ ३-६९-६ ॥
'It is evident in the world that a woman's nature can be fickle. My own offense has been grave; perhaps she is acting this way because, due to our separation, she no longer holds any love for me.' ॥ 3-69-6 ॥
english translation
satrIsvabhAvaza calò lòke mama dòSaza ca dAruNaH sayAda evama api kuryAta sA vivazA gatasauhRdA mama zòkena saMvignA nairAzyAta tanumadhyamA ॥ 3-69-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन चैवं कर्हि चित कुर्यात सापत्या च विशेषतः यद अत्र तथ्यं पथ्यं च गत्वा वेत्स्यामि निश्चयम ऋतुपर्णस्य वै कामम आत्मार्थं च करॊम्य अहम ॥ ३-६९-७ ॥
'Indeed, that slender-waisted girl, burdened by grief and despair on my behalf, will surely not act in such a manner, especially since she is the mother of my children. Nevertheless, whether this is true or not, I will ascertain the facts for certain by going there. Therefore, I will fulfill both Rituparna's desires and my own.' ॥ 3-69-7 ॥

na caivaM karhi cita kuryAta sApatyA ca vizeSataH yada atra tathyaM pathyaM ca gatvA vetsyAmi nizcayama RtuparNasya vai kAmama AtmArthaM ca karòmya ahama ॥ 3-69-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइति निश्चित्य मनसा बाहुकॊ दीनमानसः कृताञ्जलिर उवाचेदम ऋतुपर्णं नराधिपम ॥ ३-६९-८ ॥
'Having resolved this in his mind, Vahuka, with a heavy heart, spoke to King Rituparna with joined hands.' ॥ 3-69-8 ॥

iti nizcitya manasA bAhukò dInamAnasaH kRtAJjalira uvAcedama RtuparNaM narAdhipama ॥ 3-69-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरतिजानामि ते सत्यं गमिष्यसि नराधिप एकाह्ना पुरुषव्याघ्र विदर्भनगरीं नृप ॥ ३-६९-९ ॥
'I assure you of this truth, O king: you will reach the city of Vidarbha in a single day, O tiger among men.' ॥ 3-69-9 ॥

paratijAnAmi te satyaM gamiSyasi narAdhipa ekAhnA puruSavyAghra vidarbhanagarIM nRpa ॥ 3-69-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः परीक्षाम अश्वानां चक्रे राजन स बाहुकः अश्वशालाम उपागम्य भाङ्गस्वरिनृपाज्ञया ॥ ३-६९-१० ॥
'O king!" At the command of the royal son of Bhangasura, Vahuka went to the stables to examine the horses.' ॥ 3-69-10 ॥
