यथा चाहं समानीता सुदेवेनाशु बान्धवान तेनैव मङ्गलेनाशु सुदेवॊ यातु माचिरम समानेतुं नलं मातर अयॊध्यां नगरीम इतः ॥ ३-६८-१६ ॥

'Without delay, let Sudeva journey to the city of Ayodhya to bring Nala, O Mother, having performed the same auspicious rites that allowed him to swiftly bring me into the company of friends.' ॥ 3-68-16 ॥

english translation

yathA cAhaM samAnItA sudevenAzu bAndhavAna tenaiva maGgalenAzu sudevò yAtu mAcirama samAnetuM nalaM mAtara ayòdhyAM nagarIma itaH ॥ 3-68-16 ॥

विश्रान्तं च ततः पश्चात पर्णादं दविजसत्तमम अर्चयाम आस वैदर्भी धनेनातीव भामिनी ॥ ३-६८-१७ ॥

'With these words, after Parnada had rested and regained his strength, the princess of Vidarbha honored him lavishly with abundant wealth.' ॥ 3-68-17 ॥

vizrAntaM ca tataH pazcAta parNAdaM davijasattamama arcayAma Asa vaidarbhI dhanenAtIva bhAminI ॥ 3-68-17 ॥

नले चेहागते विप्र भूयॊ दास्यामि ते वसु तवया हि मे बहु कृतं यथा नान्यः करिष्यति यद भर्त्राहं समेष्यामि शीघ्रम एव दविजॊत्तम ॥ ३-६८-१८ ॥

'She also added, "When Nala arrives here, O Brahmana, I will bestow upon you abundant wealth once more. You have rendered me a service that no one else could provide, for it is through your efforts, O greatest of the Brahmanas, that I shall swiftly regain my lost husband."' ॥ 3-68-18 ॥

english translation

nale cehAgate vipra bhUyò dAsyAmi te vasu tavayA hi me bahu kRtaM yathA nAnyaH kariSyati yada bhartrAhaM sameSyAmi zIghrama eva davijòttama ॥ 3-68-18 ॥

एवम उक्तॊ ऽरचयित्वा ताम आशीर्वादैः सुमङ्गलैः गृहान उपययौ चापि कृतार्थः स महामनाः ॥ ३-६८-१९ ॥

'Thus addressed by Damayanti, the noble Brahmana consoled her with auspicious and reassuring words, and afterward returned home, considering his mission a success.' ॥ 3-68-19 ॥

evama uktò 'racayitvA tAma AzIrvAdaiH sumaGgalaiH gRhAna upayayau cApi kRtArthaH sa mahAmanAH ॥ 3-68-19 ॥

ततश चानाय्य तं विप्रं दमयन्ती युधिष्ठिर अब्रवीत संनिधौ मातुर दुःखशॊकसमन्विता ॥ ३-६८-२० ॥

'After he had departed, Damayanti, weighed down by grief and distress, called for Sudeva and spoke to him, O Yudhishthira, in the presence of her mother.' ॥ 3-68-20 ॥
