भवेत सुतुमुलं युद्धं सर्वशॊ ऽपय अपराजितम सर्वे हय अस्त्रविदः शूराः सर्वे पराप्ता महद यशः ॥ ३-४६-११ ॥
'Since all these warriors are invincible, a fierce battle will surely ensue. They are all heroes, skilled in weaponry and renowned for their great reputations.' ॥ 3-46-11 ॥
english translation
अपि सर्वेश्वरत्वं हि न वाञ्छेरन पराजिताः वधे नूनं भवेच छान्तिस तेषां वा फल्गुनस्य वा ॥ ३-४६-१२ ॥
'They would not desire the sovereignty of the world if it came at the cost of defeat. Indeed, peace will be restored only through the death of these warriors or of Phalguna.' ॥ 3-46-12 ॥
english translation
न तु हन्तार्जुनस्यास्ति जेता वास्य न विद्यते मन्युस तस्य कथं शाम्येन मन्दान परति समुत्थितः ॥ ३-४६-१३ ॥
'There exists no slayer of Arjuna, nor anyone who can vanquish him. Oh, how can the wrath directed at me be pacified?' ॥ 3-46-13 ॥
english translation
तरिदशेश समॊ वीरः खाण्डवे ऽगनिम अतर्पयत जिगाय पार्थिवान सर्वान राजसूये महाक्रतौ ॥ ३-४६-१४ ॥
'That hero, equal to the chief of the celestials, pleased Agni at Khandava and vanquished all the monarchs of the earth during the grand Rajasuya sacrifice.' ॥ 3-46-14 ॥
english translation
शेषं कुर्याद गिरेर वज्रं निपतन मूर्ध्नि संजय न तु कुर्युः शराः शेषम अस्तास तात किरीटिना ॥ ३-४६-१५ ॥
'O Sanjaya, the thunderbolt that strikes the mountain top leaves a part unconsumed; but the arrows shot by Kiriti leave nothing behind.' ॥ 3-46-15 ॥
