[ज] अत्यद्भुतम इदं कर्म पार्थस्यामित तेजसः धृतराष्ट्रॊ महातेजाः शरुत्वा विप्र किम अब्रवीत ॥ ३-४६-१ ॥
'Janamejaya said, "The feats of Pritha's son, endowed with immeasurable energy, are truly astonishing. O Brahmana, what did the wise Dhritarashtra say when he heard of them?"' ॥ 3-46-1 ॥
english translation
[वै] शक्र लॊकगतं पार्थं शरुत्वा राजाम्बिका सुतः दवैपायनाद ऋषिश्रेष्ठात संजयं वाक्यम अब्रवीत ॥ ३-४६-२ ॥
'Vaisampayana said, "King Dhritarashtra, the son of Ambika, upon hearing from Dwaipayana, the foremost of Rishis, about Arjuna's arrival and stay in Indra's abode, spoke to Sanjaya;"' ॥ 3-46-2 ॥
english translation
शरुतं मे सूत कार्त्स्न्येन कर्म पार्थस्य धीमतः कच चित तवापि विदितं यथातथ्येन सारथे ॥ ३-४६-३ ॥
'O charioteer, do you know in full detail the deeds of the intelligent Arjuna, which I have heard from start to finish?' ॥ 3-46-3 ॥
english translation
परमत्तॊ गराम्यधर्मेषु मन्दात्मा पापनिश्चयः मम पुत्रः सुदुर्बुद्धिः पृथिवीं घातयिष्यति ॥ ३-४६-४ ॥
'O charioteer, my wretched and sinful son is currently pursuing a most base and reckless course. With his wicked heart, he will surely bring ruin and depopulate the earth.' ॥ 3-46-4 ॥

यस्य नित्यम ऋता वाचः सवैरेष्व अपि महात्मनः तरैलॊक्यम अपि तस्य सयाद यॊद्धा यस्य धनंजयः ॥ ३-४६-५ ॥
'The illustrious one, whose words are true even in jest, and who has Dhananjaya fighting for him, is destined to conquer the three worlds.' ॥ 3-46-5 ॥
