तत्र नागा महाकाया जवलितास्याः सुदारुणाः सिताभ्रकूटप्रतिमाः संहताश च यथॊपलाः ॥ ३-४३-६ ॥
'On that car, there were also fierce, gigantic Nagas with blazing mouths, terrifying to behold, resembling peaks of white clouds, and great heaps of stones, clustered together like solid masses.' ॥ 3-43-6 ॥
english translation
tatra nAgA mahAkAyA javalitAsyAH sudAruNAH sitAbhrakUTapratimAH saMhatAza ca yathòpalAH ॥ 3-43-6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदशवाजिसहस्राणि हरीणां वातरंहसाम वहन्ति यं नेत्रमुषं दिव्यं मायामयं रथम ॥ ३-४३-७ ॥
'The chariot was drawn by ten thousand golden horses, swift as the wind, moving with such incredible speed that the eye could scarcely perceive its motion.' ॥ 3-43-7 ॥
english translation
dazavAjisahasrANi harINAM vAtaraMhasAma vahanti yaM netramuSaM divyaM mAyAmayaM rathama ॥ 3-43-7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत्रापश्यन महानीलं वैजयन्तं महाप्रभम धवजम इन्दी वरश्यामं वंशं कनकभूषणम ॥ ३-४३-८ ॥
'And Arjuna beheld on that car the flagstaff known as Vaijayanta, radiant and resplendent, its color akin to emerald or the deep-blue lotus, adorned with golden ornaments and standing tall and straight like a bamboo shoot.' ॥ 3-43-8 ॥

tatrApazyana mahAnIlaM vaijayantaM mahAprabhama dhavajama indI varazyAmaM vaMzaM kanakabhUSaNama ॥ 3-43-8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्मिन रथे सथितं सूतं तप्तहेमविभूषितम दृष्ट्वा पार्थॊ महाबाहुर देवम एवान्वतर्कयत ॥ ३-४३-९ ॥
'And seeing the charioteer adorned in gold seated on that car, the mighty-armed son of Pritha recognized it as a celestial vehicle, resonating with divine essence.' ॥ 3-43-9 ॥

tasmina rathe sathitaM sUtaM taptahemavibhUSitama dRSTvA pArthò mahAbAhura devama evAnvatarkayata ॥ 3-43-9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतथा तर्कयतस तस्य फल्गुनस्याथ मातलिः संनतः परश्रितॊ भूत्वा वाक्यम अर्जुनम अब्रवीत ॥ ३-४३-१० ॥
'As Arjuna was absorbed in his thoughts about the chariot, Matali, the charioteer, bent down as he descended from the car and addressed him, saying:' ॥ 3-43-10 ॥

tathA tarkayatasa tasya phalgunasyAtha mAtaliH saMnataH parazritò bhUtvA vAkyama arjunama abravIta ॥ 3-43-10 ॥
