तत्रापश्यन महानीलं वैजयन्तं महाप्रभम धवजम इन्दी वरश्यामं वंशं कनकभूषणम ॥ ३-४३-८ ॥
'And Arjuna beheld on that car the flagstaff known as Vaijayanta, radiant and resplendent, its color akin to emerald or the deep-blue lotus, adorned with golden ornaments and standing tall and straight like a bamboo shoot.' ॥ 3-43-8 ॥
