न हि मद्बाणजालानाम उत्सृष्टानां सहस्रशः शक्तॊ ऽनयः सहितुं वेगम ऋते देवं पिनाकिनम ॥ ३-४०-३१ ॥
'Except for the god who wields the Pinaka, there is none who can withstand the onslaught of the thousands of arrows I release from the Gandiva.' ॥ 3-40-31 ॥
english translation
na hi madbANajAlAnAma utsRSTAnAM sahasrazaH zaktò 'nayaH sahituM vegama Rte devaM pinAkinama ॥ 3-40-31 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदेवॊ वा यदि वा यक्षॊ रुद्राद अन्यॊ वयवस्थितः अहम एनं शरैस तीक्ष्णैर नयामि यमसादनम ॥ ३-४०-३२ ॥
'Whether he is a god or a Yaksha, indeed, anyone but Rudra, I shall soon send him to the realms of Yama with my arrows.' ॥ 3-40-32 ॥
english translation
devò vA yadi vA yakSò rudrAda anyò vayavasthitaH ahama enaM zaraisa tIkSNaira nayAmi yamasAdanama ॥ 3-40-32 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततॊ हृष्टमना जिष्णुर नाराचान मर्मभेदिनः वयसृजच छतधा राजन मयूखान इव भास्करः ॥ ३-४०-३३ ॥
'Thus contemplating, Arjuna, with a joyful heart, began to release hundreds of arrows, each radiant like the rays of the sun, O king.' ॥ 3-40-33 ॥
english translation
tatò hRSTamanA jiSNura nArAcAna marmabhedinaH vayasRjaca chatadhA rAjana mayUkhAna iva bhAskaraH ॥ 3-40-33 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतान परसन्नेन मनसा भगवाँल लॊकभावनः शूलपाणिः परत्यगृह्णाच छिला वर्षम इवाचलः ॥ ३-४०-३४ ॥
'However, the illustrious Creator of the worlds—the wielder of the trident—bore that downpour of arrows with a joyful heart, like a mountain enduring a shower of rocks.' ॥ 3-40-34 ॥
english translation
tAna parasannena manasA bhagavA~la lòkabhAvanaH zUlapANiH paratyagRhNAca chilA varSama ivAcalaH ॥ 3-40-34 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकषणेन कषीणबाणॊ ऽथ संवृत्तः फल्गुनस तदा वित्रासं च जगामाथ तं दृष्ट्वा शरसंक्षयम ॥ ३-४०-३५ ॥
'Soon, however, Phalguna's arrows were exhausted. Noticing this, Arjuna was filled with great alarm.' ॥ 3-40-35 ॥

kaSaNena kaSINabANò 'tha saMvRttaH phalgunasa tadA vitrAsaM ca jagAmAtha taM dRSTvA zarasaMkSayama ॥ 3-40-35 ॥
