[व] ततॊ दिवाकरः परीतॊ दर्शयाम आस पाण्डवम दीप्यमानः सववपुषा जवलन्न इव हुताशनः ।। ३-४-१ ।।

sanskrit

'Vaisampayana said, 'Thus, O great king, was the Sun, the purifier of the world, revered by Yudhishthira. Pleased with the hymn, the Sun, self-luminous and blazing like fire, manifested himself to the son of Pandu.'' ।। 3-4-1 ।।

english translation

[va] tatò divAkaraH parItò darzayAma Asa pANDavama dIpyamAnaH savavapuSA javalanna iva hutAzanaH || 3-4-1 ||

'Vivaswan said, "You shall receive everything you desire. I will provide you with sustenance for a combined period of twelve years."' ।। 3-4-2 ।।

फलमूलामिषं शाकं संस्कृतं यन महानसे चतुर्विधं तदन्नाद्यम अक्षय्यं ते भविष्यति धनं च विविधं तुभ्यम इत्य उक्त्वान्तरधीयत ।। ३-४-३ ।।

'Moreover, O king, accept this copper vessel I give you. As long as Panchali holds this vessel, without consuming its contents—fruits, roots, meat, or vegetables cooked in your kitchen—these four types of food will remain inexhaustible. Additionally, on the fourteenth year from now, you shall regain your kingdom. Thus, he spoke and then vanished from sight.' ।। 3-4-3 ।।

'Having received the boon, the son of Kunti, well-versed in righteousness, emerged from the water and, seizing the feet of Dhaumya, reverently placed him on his chariot, offering his respects to the Bharatas and showing great devotion.' ।। 3-4-4 ।।

labdhvA varaM tu kaunteyò jalAda uttIrya dharmavita jagrAha pAdau dhaumyasya bharAtRRMza cAsvajatAcyutaH || 3-4-4 ||

'And, O exalted one, after proceeding with Draupadi to the kitchen and being duly honored by her, the son of Pandu began preparing their meal.' ।। 3-4-5 ।।
