ततः परवर्तते पश्च्चात करणेष्व अस्य सिद्धये तां सिद्धिम उपजीवन्ति कर्मणाम इह जन्तवः ॥ ३-३३-२६ ॥

'Understanding these methods, individuals then employ the appropriate means to achieve their goals. Creatures sustain themselves by the fruits of their efforts in these pursuits.' ॥ 3-33-26 ॥

english translation

कुशलेन कृतं कर्म कर्त्रा साधु विनिश्चितम इदं तव अकुशलेनेति विशेषाद उपलभ्यते ॥ ३-३३-२७ ॥

'If a task is performed by a skilled artisan, it is executed well. Conversely, a task performed by an unskilled person is distinctly inferior.' ॥ 3-33-27 ॥

english translation

इष्टापूर्तफलं न सयान न शिष्यॊ न गुरुर भवेत पुरुषः कर्म साध्येषु सयाच चेद अयम अकारणम ॥ ३-३३-२८ ॥

'If individuals were not the cause of their own actions, sacrifices would yield no results, and there would be no such distinctions as disciples or masters.' ॥ 3-33-28 ॥

english translation

कर्तृत्वाद एव पुरुषः कर्मसिद्धौ परशस्यते असिद्धौ निन्द्यते चापि कर्म नाशः कथं तव इह ॥ ३-३३-२९ ॥

'A person is praised for successful work because he is the cause of it, and similarly, he is censured for failures. If a person were not the cause of his actions, how could such results be justified?' ॥ 3-33-29 ॥

english translation

सर्वम एव हठेनैके दिष्टेनैके वदन्त्य उत पुरुषप्रयत्नजं के चित तरैधम एतन निरुच्यते ॥ ३-३३-३० ॥

'Some assert that everything results from divine providence, while others argue that what appears to be the result of destiny or chance is actually due to the good or bad actions from previous lives.' ॥ 3-33-30 ॥
