कारणं तस्य देहॊ ऽयं धातुः कर्मणि कर्मणि स यथा परेरयत्य एनं तथायं कुरुते ऽवशः ॥ ३-३३-२१ ॥

'This body is but an instrument in the hands of the Supreme Lord, performing the acts that are decreed. In itself inert, it acts only as God directs it.' ॥ 3-33-21 ॥

english translation

तेषु तेषु हि कृत्येषु विनियॊक्ता महेश्वरः सर्वभूतानि कौन्तेय कारयत्य अवशान्य अपि ॥ ३-३३-२२ ॥

'In itself inert, it acts only as God directs it. O son of Kunti, it is the Supreme Lord who compels all creatures to perform their actions.' ॥ 3-33-22 ॥

english translation

मनसार्थान विनिश्चित्य पश्चात पराप्नॊति कर्मणा बुद्धिपूर्वं सवयं धीरः पुरुषस तत्र कारणम ॥ ३-३३-२३ ॥

'Creatures themselves are inert, O hero. It is man, after first determining a purpose in his mind, who accomplishes it through his own efforts and intelligence.' ॥ 3-33-23 ॥

english translation

संख्यातुं नैव शक्यानि कर्माणि पुरुषर्षभ अगार नगराणां हि सिद्धिः पुरुषहैतुकी ॥ ३-३३-२४ ॥

'O foremost of men, it is impossible to count all the actions of individuals, for the prosperity of cities and homes is the result of human effort.' ॥ 3-33-24 ॥

english translation

तिले तैलं गवि कषीरं काष्ठे पावकम अन्ततः धिया धिरॊ विजानीयाद उपायं चास्य सिद्धये ॥ ३-३३-२५ ॥

'Wise men, guided by their intellect, know that oil is extracted from sesame seeds, curds from milk, and that food is cooked by igniting fuel. They also understand the methods for achieving these results.' ॥ 3-33-25 ॥
