कारणं तस्य देहॊ ऽयं धातुः कर्मणि कर्मणि स यथा परेरयत्य एनं तथायं कुरुते ऽवशः ।। ३-३३-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'This body is but an instrument in the hands of the Supreme Lord, performing the acts that are decreed. In itself inert, it acts only as God directs it.' ।। 3-33-21 ।।

english translation

kAraNaM tasya dehò 'yaM dhAtuH karmaNi karmaNi sa yathA parerayatya enaM tathAyaM kurute 'vazaH || 3-33-21 ||

'Creatures themselves are inert, O hero. It is man, after first determining a purpose in his mind, who accomplishes it through his own efforts and intelligence.' ।। 3-33-23 ।।

manasArthAna vinizcitya pazcAta parApnòti karmaNA buddhipUrvaM savayaM dhIraH puruSasa tatra kAraNama || 3-33-23 ||

'O foremost of men, it is impossible to count all the actions of individuals, for the prosperity of cities and homes is the result of human effort.' ।। 3-33-24 ।।

english translation

saMkhyAtuM naiva zakyAni karmANi puruSarSabha agAra nagarANAM hi siddhiH puruSahaitukI || 3-33-24 ||

तिले तैलं गवि कषीरं काष्ठे पावकम अन्ततः धिया धिरॊ विजानीयाद उपायं चास्य सिद्धये ।। ३-३३-२५ ।।

'Wise men, guided by their intellect, know that oil is extracted from sesame seeds, curds from milk, and that food is cooked by igniting fuel. They also understand the methods for achieving these results.' ।। 3-33-25 ।।

english translation

tile tailaM gavi kaSIraM kASThe pAvakama antataH dhiyA dhirò vijAnIyAda upAyaM cAsya siddhaye || 3-33-25 ||
