तस्यात्मानं संत्यजतॊ लॊका नश्यन्त्य अनात्मनः तस्माद दरौपद्य अशक्तस्य मन्यॊर नियमनं समृतम ॥ ३-३०-११ ॥
'For one who deliberately casts away his life through anger, there are no realms to attain in the afterlife. Therefore, O daughter of Drupada, it is advised that a weak man should always suppress his wrath.' ॥ 3-30-11 ॥
english translation
tasyAtmAnaM saMtyajatò lòkA nazyantya anAtmanaH tasmAda daraupadya azaktasya manyòra niyamanaM samRtama ॥ 3-30-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविद्वांस तथैव यः शक्तः कलिश्यमानॊ न कुप्यति स नाशयित्वा कलेष्टारं परलॊके च नन्दति ॥ ३-३०-१२ ॥
'And the wise man, even when persecuted, who does not allow his wrath to be stirred, finds joy in the afterlife—having risen above his persecutor with indifference.' ॥ 3-30-12 ॥
english translation
vidvAMsa tathaiva yaH zaktaH kalizyamAnò na kupyati sa nAzayitvA kaleSTAraM paralòke ca nandati ॥ 3-30-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्माद बलवता चैव दुर्बलेन च नित्यदा कषन्तव्यं पुरुषेणाहुर आपत्स्व अपि विजानता ॥ ३-३०-१३ ॥
'It is for this reason that it is said a wise man, whether strong or weak, should always forgive his persecutor, even when the persecutor is in distress.' ॥ 3-30-13 ॥
english translation
tasmAda balavatA caiva durbalena ca nityadA kaSantavyaM puruSeNAhura Apatsva api vijAnatA ॥ 3-30-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमन्यॊर हि विजयं कृष्णे परशंसन्तीह साधवः कषमावतॊ जयॊ नित्यं साधॊर इह सतां मतम ॥ ३-३०-१४ ॥
'It is for this reason, O Krishna, that the virtuous acclaim those who have mastered their anger. Indeed, the wise believe that the honest and forgiving person is always victorious.' ॥ 3-30-14 ॥

manyòra hi vijayaM kRSNe parazaMsantIha sAdhavaH kaSamAvatò jayò nityaM sAdhòra iha satAM matama ॥ 3-30-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसत्यं चानृततः शरेयॊ नृशंसाच चानृशंसता तम एवं बहुदॊषं तु करॊधं साधु विवर्जितम मादृशः परसृजेत कस्मात सुयॊधन वधाद अपि ॥ ३-३०-१५ ॥
'Truth is more beneficial than falsehood, and gentleness is superior to cruelty. How then can someone like me, even to slay Duryodhana, embrace anger—a trait with so many faults, which the virtuous reject from their hearts?' ॥ 3-30-15 ॥

satyaM cAnRtataH zareyò nRzaMsAca cAnRzaMsatA tama evaM bahudòSaM tu karòdhaM sAdhu vivarjitama mAdRzaH parasRjeta kasmAta suyòdhana vadhAda api ॥ 3-30-15 ॥
