तेजस्वीति यम आहुर वै पण्डिता दीर्घदर्शिनः न करॊधॊ ऽभयन्तरस तस्य भवतीति विनिश्चितम ॥ ३-३०-१६ ॥

'Those whom the learned and discerning regard as truly strong of character are those who may outwardly show anger but remain inwardly composed. It is such a person, who, through wisdom, can control his rising wrath, who is truly considered to possess genuine strength of character.' ॥ 3-30-16 ॥

english translation

यस तु करॊधं समुत्पन्नं परज्ञया परतिबाधते तेजस्विनं तं विद्वांसॊ मन्यन्ते तत्त्वदर्शिनः ॥ ३-३०-१७ ॥

'Those who, through wisdom, can restrain their rising anger are considered truly radiant by the wise and insightful.' ॥ 3-30-17 ॥

english translation

करुद्धॊ हि कायं सुश्रॊणि न यथावत परपश्यति न कार्यं न च मर्यादां नरः करुद्धॊ ऽनुपश्यति ॥ ३-३०-१८ ॥

'An angry person, O beautiful-hipped one, does not see things as they truly are. An enraged man perceives neither duty nor propriety.' ॥ 3-30-18 ॥

english translation

हन्त्य अवध्यान अपि करुद्धॊ गुरून रूक्षैस तुदत्य अपि तस्मात तेजसि कर्तव्ये करॊधॊ दूरात परतिष्ठितः ॥ ३-३०-१९ ॥

'The angry man may kill those who do not deserve to be harmed and even slay his own teachers. Therefore, a person of true character should always keep wrath at bay.' ॥ 3-30-19 ॥

english translation

दाक्ष्यं हय अमर्षः शौर्यं च शीघ्रत्वम इति तेजसः गुणाः करॊधाभिभूतेन न शक्याः पराप्तुम अञ्जसा ॥ ३-३०-२० ॥

'Skill, intolerance of wrongdoing, valor, and swiftness - these qualities of energy Cannot be easily attained by one overcome with anger.' ॥ 3-30-20 ॥
