[यक्स] किं सविद एकॊ विचरति जातः कॊ जायते पुनः किं सविद धिमस्य भैषज्यं किं सविद आवपनं महत ।। ३-२९७-४६ ।।

'Yaksha asked: "What is it that wanders alone after being born? What is born again? What is the medicine for cold/winter? What is the great sowing?' ।। 3-297-46 ।।

[yaksa] kiM savida ekò vicarati jAtaH kò jAyate punaH kiM savida dhimasya bhaiSajyaM kiM savida AvapanaM mahata || 3-297-46 ||

[य] सूर्य एकॊ विचरति चन्द्रमा जायते पुनः अग्निर हिमस्य भैषज्यं भूमिर आपवनं महत ।। ३-२९७-४७ ।।

'Yudhishthira answered: "The sun journeys alone across the sky; the moon is reborn anew each month. Fire is the remedy against the cold, and the Earth is the greatest purifier."' ।। 3-297-47 ।।

[ya] sUrya ekò vicarati candramA jAyate punaH agnira himasya bhaiSajyaM bhUmira ApavanaM mahata || 3-297-47 ||

[यक्स] किं सविद एकपदं धर्म्यं किं सविद एकपदं यशः किं सविद एकपदं सवर्ग्यं किं सविद एकपदं सुखम ।। ३-२९७-४८ ।।

'The Yaksha asked: "What is the supreme refuge of virtue? What is the highest seat of fame? What is the greatest abode of heaven? And what is the ultimate source of happiness?"' ।। 3-297-48 ।।

[yaksa] kiM savida ekapadaM dharmyaM kiM savida ekapadaM yazaH kiM savida ekapadaM savargyaM kiM savida ekapadaM sukhama || 3-297-48 ||

[य] दाक्ष्यम एकपदं धर्म्यं दानम एकपदं यशः सत्यम एकपदं सवर्ग्यं शीलम एकपदं सुखम ।। ३-२९७-४९ ।।

'Yudhishthira answered: "Liberality is the highest support of virtue; Charity is the source of true fame; Truth is the path to heaven; And good conduct is the root of happiness."' ।। 3-297-49 ।।

[ya] dAkSyama ekapadaM dharmyaM dAnama ekapadaM yazaH satyama ekapadaM savargyaM zIlama ekapadaM sukhama || 3-297-49 ||

'The Yaksha asked: "What is the true self of a man? Who is the companion granted to him by the gods? What is his primary means of sustenance? And what is his ultimate refuge?"' ।। 3-297-50 ।।
