यॊ ऽपकर्तॄंश च कर्तॄंश च तेजसैवॊपगच्छति तस्माद उद्विजते लॊकः सर्पाद वेश्म गताद इव ॥ ३-२९-२१ ॥
'He who applies his might against both his benefactor and his foe becomes a source of fear to all, like a snake that has taken shelter in a house becomes to its inhabitants.' ॥ 3-29-21 ॥
english translation
यस्माद उद्विजते लॊकः कथं तस्य भवॊ भवेत अन्तरं हय अस्य दृष्ट्वैव लॊकॊ विकुरुते धरुवम तस्मान नात्युत्सृजेत तेजॊ न च नित्यं मृदुर भवेत ॥ ३-२९-२२ ॥
'What prosperity can one expect who is an object of alarm to the world? People will always seek to exploit any weakness they perceive. Therefore, one should neither display excessive might nor show forgiveness at all times.' ॥ 3-29-22 ॥
english translation
काले मृदुर यॊ भवति काले भवति दारुणः स वै सुखम अवाप्नॊति लॊके ऽमुष्मिन्न इहैव च ॥ ३-२९-२३ ॥
'Instead, one should exercise strength and grant forgiveness at the appropriate times. He who knows when to be forgiving and when to be strict and powerful will achieve happiness both in this world and the next.' ॥ 3-29-23 ॥

कषमा कालांस तु वक्ष्यामि शृणु मे विस्तरेण तान ये ते नित्यम असंत्याज्या यथा पराहुर मनीषिणः ॥ ३-२९-२४ ॥
'I shall now specify, in detail, the occasions for practicing forgiveness as prescribed by the wise. Listen carefully as I explain!' ॥ 3-29-24 ॥

पूर्वॊपकारी यस तु सयाद अपराधे ऽगरीयसि उपकारेण तत तस्य कषन्तव्यम अपराधिनः ॥ ३-२९-२५ ॥
'If someone who has previously rendered you a service commits a serious offense against you, you should forgive that person, remembering their past service.' ॥ 3-29-25 ॥
