अबुद्धिम आश्रितानां च कषन्तव्यम अपराधिनाम न हि सर्वत्र पाण्डित्यं सुलभं पुरुषेण वै ॥ ३-२९-२६ ॥
'Those who offend out of ignorance or folly should also be forgiven, for learning and wisdom are not always easily attainable by everyone.' ॥ 3-29-26 ॥
english translation
अथ चेद बुद्धिजं कृत्वा बरूयुस ते तद अबुद्धिजम पापान सवल्पे ऽपि तान हन्याद अपराधे तथानृजून ॥ ३-२९-२७ ॥
'Those who, despite knowingly offending you, claim ignorance should be punished, even if their offenses are minor. Such deceitful individuals should not be pardoned.' ॥ 3-29-27 ॥
english translation
सर्वस्यैकॊ ऽपराधस ते कषन्तव्यः पराणिनॊ भवेत दवितीये सति वध्यस तु सवल्पे ऽपय अपकृते भवेत ॥ ३-२९-२८ ॥
'However, the first offense committed by anyone should be forgiven. However, the second offense should be punished, even if it is trivial.' ॥ 3-29-28 ॥
english translation
अजानता भवेत कश चिद अपराधः कृतॊ यदि कषन्तव्यम एव तस्याहुः सुपरीक्ष्य परीक्षया ॥ ३-२९-२९ ॥
'If a person commits an offense unwillingly, it is said that, upon thorough and judicious examination of his plea, he should be pardoned.' ॥ 3-29-29 ॥
english translation
मृदुना मार्दवं हन्ति मृदुना हन्ति दारुणम नासाध्यं मृदुना किं चित तस्मात तीक्ष्णतरॊ मृदुः ॥ ३-२९-३० ॥
'Humility can overcome both might and weakness. There is nothing that humility cannot achieve. Therefore, humility, though it may seem mild, is truly powerful.' ॥ 3-29-30 ॥
