वयस्ते काले पुनॊ चैति न चैति बहुशॊ दविजः दुर्लभ्यम अपि चैवान्नं दीयताम इति सॊ ऽबरवीत ॥ ३-२८९-६ ॥
'And on many occasions, the Brahmana would return long after the appointed hour had passed. And often — even in the dead of night, when food was difficult to obtain — he would say, 'Give me food!'' ॥ 3-289-6 ॥
english translation
कृतम एव च तत सर्वं पृथा तस्मै नयवेदयत शिष्यवत पुत्रवच चैव सवसृवच च सुसंयता ॥ ३-२८९-७ ॥
'But on all those occasions, Pritha would simply say, 'All is ready,' and place the fare before him. Like a devoted disciple, a dutiful daughter, or a loving sister, that blameless and noble maiden, O King, served and gratified that foremost of Brahmanas with all her heart.' ॥ 3-289-7 ॥

यथॊपजॊषं राजेन्द्र दविजातिप्रवरस्य सा परीतिम उत्पादयाम आस कन्या यत्नैर अनिन्दिता ॥ ३-२८९-८ ॥
'O King, that blameless maiden, by her devoted efforts, succeeded in winning the full satisfaction of that foremost among the twice-born, just as was pleasing to him.' ॥ 3-289-8 ॥
english translation
तस्यास तु शीलवृत्तेन तुतॊष दविजसत्तमः अवधानेन भूयॊ ऽसय परं यत्नम अथाकरॊत ॥ ३-२८९-९ ॥
'That best of Brahmanas was well-pleased by her noble behavior and care, and he accepted her ministrations, recognizing their true worth.' ॥ 3-289-9 ॥
english translation
तां परभाते च साये च पिता पप्रच्छ भारत अपि तुष्यति ते पुत्रि बराह्मणः परिचर्यया ॥ ३-२८९-१० ॥
'And, O Bharata, her father would ask her each morning and evening, saying, 'O daughter, is the Brahmana satisfied with your service?'' ॥ 3-289-10 ॥
