बराह्मणा हि परं तेजॊ बराह्मणा हि परंतपः बराह्मणानां नमः कारैर सूर्यॊ दिवि विराजते ॥ ३-२८७-१६ ॥

sanskrit

'A Brahmana embodies supreme energy and the highest ascetic virtue. It is through the virtuous deeds of Brahmanas that the Sun shines brilliantly in the heavens.' ॥ 3-287-16 ॥

english translation

barAhmaNA hi paraM tejò barAhmaNA hi paraMtapaH barAhmaNAnAM namaH kAraira sUryò divi virAjate ॥ 3-287-16 ॥

'Because of their disrespect toward Brahmanas worthy of honor, the mighty Asura Vātāpi, along with Talajaṅgha, was destroyed by the curse of the Brahmanas.' ॥ 3-287-17 ॥

'For the present, O child, a highly virtuous Brahmana of that order is entrusted to your care. You should always serve this Brahmana with devoted attention.' ॥ 3-287-18 ॥
