उपस्थास्यति सा तवां वै पूजयानवमन्य च तस्याश च शीलवृत्तेन तुष्टिं समुपयास्यसि ॥ ३-२८७-११ ॥
'And she shall attend upon you, ministering with reverence and respect. You shall be pleased with her virtuous disposition.' ॥ 3-287-11 ॥
english translation
एवम उक्त्वा तु तं विप्रम अभिपूज्य यथाविधि उवाच कन्याम अभ्येत्य पृथां पृथुल लॊचनाम ॥ ३-२८७-१२ ॥
'Having said this to the Brahmana and duly paying him homage, the king went to his daughter Pritha, renowned for her large eyes, and spoke unto her thus:—' ॥ 3-287-12 ॥
english translation
अयं वत्से महाभागॊ बराह्मणॊ वस्तुम इच्छति मम गेहे मया चास्य तथेत्य एवं परतिश्रुतम ॥ ३-२८७-१३ ॥
'O child, this eminently pious Brahmana desires to dwell in my house! I have accepted his proposal, saying—‘So be it.’' ॥ 3-287-13 ॥
english translation
तवयि वत्से पराश्वस्य बराह्मणस्याभिराधनम तन मे वाक्यं न मिथ्या तवं कर्तुम अर्हसि कर्हि चित ॥ ३-२८७-१४ ॥
'O child, you are charged with attending to that great Brahmana. My word to you is true; you are indeed capable of fulfilling this duty at every moment.' ॥ 3-287-14 ॥
english translation
अयं तपस्वी भगवान सवाध्यायनियतॊ दविजः यद यद बरूयान महातेजास तत तद देयम अमत्सरात ॥ ३-२८७-१५ ॥
'Do thou gladly grant him whatever this venerable Brahmana, rich in ascetic merit and devoted to Vedic study, may desire. Let all his requests be met cheerfully and without hesitation.' ॥ 3-287-15 ॥
