नियमेन परदद्यास तवं कुण्डले वै शतक्रतॊः अवध्यॊ हय असि भूतानां कुण्डलाभ्यां समन्वितः ॥ ३-२८६-११ ॥
'O thou of a hundred sacrifices, I shall indeed give thee these earrings—but under one condition. For as long as I wear them, I am invulnerable—no being can slay me while I am adorned with these.' ॥ 3-286-11 ॥
english translation
अर्जुनेन विनाशं हि तव दानव सूदनः परार्थयानॊ रणे वत्स कुण्डले ते जिहीर्षति ॥ ३-२८६-१२ ॥
'It is for this reason, O son, that the slayer of the Dānavas, desiring to see you fall in battle at Arjuna's hands, seeks to strip you of your earrings.' ॥ 3-286-12 ॥
english translation
स तवम अप्य एनम आराध्य सूनृताभिः पुनः पुनः अभ्यर्थयेथा देवेशम अमॊघार्थं पुरंदरम ॥ ३-२८६-१३ ॥
'With sincere and repeated words of reverence, do you propitiate that lord of the celestials—Purandara, wielder of unfailing weapons.' ॥ 3-286-13 ॥
english translation
अमॊघां देहि मे शक्तिम अमित्रविनिबर्हिणीम दास्यामि ते सहस्राक्ष कुण्डले वर्म चॊत्तमम ॥ ३-२८६-१४ ॥
'Beseech him thus: ‘Grant me an infallible dart capable of slaying all foes, and in return, O thousand-eyed deity, I shall give you my earrings along with my excellent coat of mail.’' ॥ 3-286-14 ॥
english translation
इत्य एवं नियमेन तवं दद्याः शक्राय कुण्डले तया तवं कर्ण संग्रामे हनिष्यसि रणे रिपून ॥ ३-२८६-१५ ॥
'Only on this condition should you give your earrings to Shakra. Armed with that dart, O Karna, you shall smite your foes in battle.' ॥ 3-286-15 ॥
